PRR 493445, Bunk Car, 1960
Title:  PRR 493445, Bunk Car, 1960
Description:  MofW Equipment. Here is an original photo that I took in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, in May of 1960. Shown here is the Pennsylvania Railroad's wooden Bunk House Car #493445. The two smokestacks means that it's heated by coal stoves, and the wire running toward the hand brake means that it has electric lights inside. There is neither running water nor toilets, however, so its occupants are obliged to use the PRR's Freight Station (partially visible at the right). Hollidaysburg's historic Chimney Rocks are visible in the distance. Photo taken near the junction of Blair and South Juniata Streets.
